PROGRAM / Multifunctional forest management
LINE / Forest Functioning & Dynamics

Lucia is a Forest Engineer from the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (2012), with a licentitate on land use zoning and forest restoration (2015). She has a doble master degree from the University of Eastern Finland on European Forestry and AgroParisTech on Forests and their environment (2019). She previously worked for four years researching tropical forest dynamics, agroforestry systems and indigenous communities in Costa Rica. Currently she is doing her PhD at the CTFC and the Universitat de Lleida working on modelling post-fire regeneration of Catalonia's pinewoods, where she works with the concept of fire refugia as a driver of regeneration. She is interested in (i) forest dynamics facing global change drivers, (ii) landscape ecology and (iii) bringing science to the general public.
