Director of CTFC (December 2016 - ). Continuous growth in annual budget, coordination of international and national-level research projects, technology transfer to public and private actors, and research publications in peer reviewed journals. In the period 2017-2024 annual budget has increased from 4.6 to 14 M euros, staff has grown from 89 to 190, and an initial financial debt of 4.5 M euros was totally paid back. During these years, CTFC has become a center of reference in the Mediterranean and Southern European context, by establishing a hub of excellence in research, innovation and technology transfer towards society and conducting relevant science for sustainable forest management, biodiversity, and the circular bioeconomy. Besides CTFC direction, Antoni is coordinating the FIRE-RES project, the largest R&I project in Europe on the mitigation of extreme wildfire events by the promotion of resilient landscapes and the bioeconomy, and has been a key catalyzer for the development, adoption and implementation of the 2030 Circular Bioeconomy Strategy in Catalonia. Another relevant activity has been representing the institution in prime time media as an expert in forests, bioeconomy and climate change (e.g. Més 324). Organizing and participating in various international workshops on the bioeconomy (e.g. in the European Parliament). Author of 32 peer-reviewed scientific publications and responsible of various technology transfer actions linked to the bioeconomy and forest management.

Government of Catalonia, Department of Agriculture, General director of natural resources and biodiversity (2013 – 2016).  Development of various measures for promoting the bioeconomy concept in the Catalan forest sector, for example: (1) Strategy for the energy use of forest biomass; (2) New management and mobilization model for the public forests in Catalonia (the amount of sustainably managed area increased 90% in the period 2013-2015); (3) New regulation for using local timber in the construction and rehabilitation of public buildings

Previously:

Research, technology transfer and applied projects in forest management and the environment in general.

ETH Zurich, Institute of Terrestrial Ecosystems, Chair of Forest Ecology (September 2009 – February 2013). Research Assistant position in the frame of the MOTIVE project (FP7; Models for Adaptive management http://motive-project.net/), focused on developing models and strategies to adapt forest management to climate change.

Foreco Technologies, SL., (November 2004 - September 2009). Consulting company specializing on forest management planning and the management of environmental resources in general. Promotion and development of various projects at the national and international levels (support to public administration, universities, European projects)

CTFC, Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia (June 1999 - November 2004). Coordination of the Mediterranean Regional Project Centre of the European Forest Institute
