Doctor of Science (Agriculture and Forestry) with a focus on forest planning from the University of Eastern Finland (2020). MSc in Geography from the University of Joensuu, with minors in Biology, Geoinformatics, Forestry and Environmental Sciences (2008).
Her research focuses on forest planning, spatial analysis, and the integration of ecological, economic and social dimensions in multifunctional landscape management. She specialises in GIS-based modelling, forest ecosystem services, carbon and land-use assessment, renewable energy and emerging digital technologies in forestry. Her work spans several European and national research projects (Horizon Europe, STN Academy, UNITE Flagship, SNS Nordic Forest Research), with roles in data analysis, scientific writing, project coordination, and LiDAR system management. Her work combines ecological, technological, and socio-economic perspectives to support resilient, multifunctional forest landscapes.
