PROGRAMME / Gestion multifonctionnelle des forêts
LIGNE / Fonctionnement et dynamique des forêts

I am Full Professor at the Department of Agricultural and Forest Sciences and Engineering of the University of Lleida (UdL) and associate researcher at the Joint Research Unit CTFC-Agrotecnio and the Centre for Forest Research (CEF) of Canada. I am also the principal investigator of the research group ADAPTAFOR (ADPATtive management And FORest dynamics), an emerging inter-institutional research team composed by 20 members from the University of Lleida and the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC). ADAPTAFOR was recently recognized as a “consolidated research group” by the Catalan government (AGAUR-Agency for Management of University and Research Grants of Catalonia).
Over the last 15 years, I have participated in various research projects funded by major national and international agencies (FP7, H2020, Horizon Europe, Spanish National Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation, Eranet Program, Interreg Program, LIFE projects, among others), serving as principal investigator on several occasions. I have also been member of the management committee for three COST Actions (E-47, FP1206 and CA15226).
At the academic level, I teach in the Master's Degree Program in European Forestry (Erasmus Mundus) and the BSc in Forestry at the University of Lleida (UdL). From 2019 to 2022, I served as academic coordinator of the Forestry degrees at UdL. Currently, I am member of the Academic Committee for the PhD Program in Forestry and Natural Environmental Management.
My research has resulted in approximately 140 scientific publications, including more than 100 peer-reviewed articles (SCI), 15 book chapters and several popular articles and scientific communications. I have served on the editorial boards of three SCI journals: New Forests (2010-2013), Canadian Journal of Forest Research (2011-2016) and European Journal of Forest Research (2013-2021). I have also participated in the evaluation of 21 doctoral theses and selection committees for various permanent research positions in Spain and France. Currently, I am a panel member in the sub-research area of Agriculture and Forestry of the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI).
