Doctor in Conservation Biology (University of Barcelona, 2018).
His work is focused on biodiversity conservation and management in contexts of coexistence with other human activities of various kinds and frequently in human-dominated landscapes. Much of his work focuses on forest ecosystems and threatened wildlife, or species involved in human-wildlife conflicts. He tries to provide a holistic approach to the dynamics of the conflicts that affect biodiversity conservation, in order to provide the knowledge needed for evidence-based decision making. The projects in which he is involved and/or coordinates, include the monitoring of threatened species, the management and conservation of large carnivores, the functional role of human activities in ecosystems (forest management, hunting, livestock husbandry, public use) and the optimization of biodiversity data management to assist in decision making.
Part of the projects of the Forest Ecosystem Conservation Group, which he coordinates, includes direct actions to improve habitats and conserve species.
In addition to Catalonia and Spain, he participates in conservation projects in other parts of Europe and Asia.
