PROGRAM / Conservation biology
LINE / Spatial ecology

Graduated in Environmental Sciences and Geology, with a master’s degree in Terrestrial Ecology and Biodiversity Management from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). During this period, he collaborated with CREAF, where he gained training in laboratory methods for processing soil and water samples from Alaska as part of the P-PEAT project, and gained fieldwork experience in Collserola, studying the behavior of mice. He also developed an interest in green city initiatives, collaborating with organizations such as ADENC, where he analyzed the tree and shrub biodiversity of Sabadell and proposed green corridors to improve the city’s ecological connectivity. Additionally, he participated with GEPEC in the development of a plan to integrate vegetation into the facades and classrooms of various schools in Torredembarra.

His master’s thesis led him to collaborate on the project “Identification of critical habitats for the conservation of the Little Bustard (Tetrax tetrax) in Spain” with the CTFC, where he is currently pursuing his PhD in the Landscape Dynamics and Biodiversity program, as part of the GREENRISK project. His thesis focuses on developing a forest biodiversity index to assess historical changes, project future scenarios, and plan restoration actions for Mediterranean forests. His first study focuses on modeling forest bird abundances and their relationship with forest structure in Catalonia’s forests, using remote sensing data and transects conducted by experts across the Catalan territory. He also collaborates with CREAF within the WildE project, which aims to develop the necessary knowledge for “climate-smart rewilding” in Europe, as a nature-based solution that enhances the natural capacity of European ecosystems for climate change mitigation, adaptation, and biodiversity support.
