PhD in Biodiversity at the University of Barcelona, since 2007 I am doing my research at the Biodiversity and Landscape Ecology Lab. I’m also an associate researcher of the Catalan Ornithological Institute and the Catalans and Spanish Herpetological Societies. I have 49 scientific publications (h-index 14 in Google Scholar; 19 SCI including prestigious magazines such as Nature, Conservation Letters, Journal of Applied Ecology) and dozens of technical reports, as contributions to 17 national and international research projects and more than 22 knowledge transfer projects from national and international calls. I have developed my research activity in the field of Biodiversity Conservation and Landscape ecology, with extensive experience in long-term monitoring programs based on citizen science of amphibians, reptiles and birds, and a solid background in science-policy interfaces of biodiversity conservation and environmental planning. My research is focused on deepening the understanding of the causes of past and future changes in biodiversity patterns by assessing and forecasting the impacts of global change drivers (land-use change, climate change and invasive species), combining biodiversity monitoring programs, new technologies, quantitative methods and models, remote sensing time-series and long-term biodiversity monitoring programs. I am also interested in translating this knowledge for the implementation of more efficient, effective and evidence-based conservation policies, by using systematic approaches and spatial prioritisation tools for informing environmental decision making and conservation planning at different geographical scales.
