Magda is a Biologist by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2000), Master in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing (IEEC 2001) and Master in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (2020).
She started her professional career in 2002 as a technician in the Geography Department of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in a project of definition, implementation and maintenance of a corporate GIS at the Agència Catalana de l'Aigua (Generalitat de Catalunya). In 2005 she joined Ecoland Lab, directed by Lluís Brotons at CTFC, first at CTFC and from 2022 from CREAF, maintaining her relationship with CTFC as an associate researcher. She has participated in several knowledge transfer projects related to biodiversity conservation, highlighting the report on the State of Nature in Catalonia 2020 and the cartographic production of several bird distribution atlases, such as the second European Breeding Bird Atlas (EBBA2) in 2020. She is part of the technical office of the Observatory of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity of Catalonia. Currently, her work focuses on the drivers of change and its effect on biodiversity.
