She studied her BSc in Biology at the University of León, and later she completed a Master in Sustainable Forest Systems Research and her PhD in Biology at the University of Valladolid.

She carried out her first postdoctoral stay at Rikkyo University (Japan), and later at the University of Cape Town (South Africa). Her research has focused on behavioral ecology, especially reproductive strategies.
Later on she worked as R&D Project Coordinator at Lokímica Barcelona, ​​in the ecology of urban pest species such as the Norway rat, the American cockroach and the Asian hornet.
Now, she is part of the Project Promotion and Management Team of the Forest Science and Technology Center of Catalonia (CTFC).
