Núria Aquilué Junyent holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the Université du Québec à Montréal (2018, Canada) and a degree in Mathematics from the Univesitat Politècnica de Catalunya (2005, Spain). She completed a Master's degree in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2010, Spain) and a postgraduate degree in Quantitative Techniques for Financial Products (2008, Spain).
She is a researcher in the Precision Forestry (PrecFOR) group – New tools for forest decision-making. Her research focuses on studying the spatial and temporal interactions between natural and human drivers of change that shape forest landscapes. Most of her research focuses on evaluating landscape-scale management strategies to improve the resilience of forest ecosystems to global threats through the use of forest landscape dynamics models. Currently, he is working on the development and application of a dynamic landscape model that integrates multiple drivers of change, as well as on a forest dynamics and management model to inform forest decision-making support tools. He is part of the scientific team developing Objective 4 of the Catalonia Bioeconomy Strategy 2030, which focuses on Promoting resilient agroforestry landscapes and the sustainable provision of ecosystem services in the context of the Catalan circular bioeconomy. In addition, he is part of the research team of several European Horizon 2020 projects and is WP leader of the RES-MAB project.
