Miquel Martí Casanovas is PhD in Urbanism by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2004), Civil Engineer by the Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon (1992-1997) and Master in Political Sciences by the Institute of Political Studies of Paris (1997-1999).
Researcher at the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC) since 2020 and Associate Professor at the Department of Urbanism of UPC (where he works since 2000).
One of his lasting research topics is contemporary public space. In the last years, he studies the development of biocities through green infrastructure, nature-based solutions and their related ecosystem services. As well, he has focused his scholar interests on sustainable urban mobility strategies and their relationship with a qualified, livable and healthy public space.
He has been working in municipal and regional urban planning in Catalonia through his own professional office too (2004-2020).
