Holds a Forestry Engineer degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (2010) and a master's degree in Forestry Engineering from the University of Valladolid (2012). In 2014, he completed a second master's degree in "Geomatics, Remote Sensing and Spatial Models Applied to Forest Management" at the University of Córdoba, Spain, where he contributed to the European project "ThermoLiDAR" in the department of Forestry Engineering.His Bachelor's Thesis was completed at the University of Helsinki under the Erasmus program.

Obtained his PhD in Biosciences and Agri-Food Sciences from INIA-Córdoba University in 2019, focusing on methodologies for evaluating juvenile wood quality.

During his PhD, he undertook several research secondments. At the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna, Austria, under the supervision of Dr. Barbara Hinterstoisser, financed by the "RTA2014-00005-00-00" project. He collaborated with the Department of Statistics at the University of Palermo, Italy, under Dr. Vito Michele Rosario Muggeo, and with the Department of Forest and Wood Science at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, under Dr. Ben du Toit, financed by a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COST Action.

His research contributions include participation in the project "EG17-042-C02-01: Scientific support for forest information generation," funded by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food (MAPA), where he was responsible for data analysis, scientific writing, and proposing a wood quality evaluation system for the National Forest Inventory. He also worked on the project "RESH2O: Restoration of environmental services and water cycle in the context of adaptation to climate change in Mediterranean basins" at the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3).

He worked as a specialized technician at ICIFOR-INIA, CSIC, in the dendrochronology and ecophysiology department. Deputy coordinator in the SINTETIC Horizon Europe project.
